Director Renumeration: Base, Bonus and LTIPs - 12th October 2027

from £0.00
  • Date: 12th October 2027

  • Time: 2.00pm-3.30pm UK / 9.00am-10.30pm EST

  • Duration: 1hr 30min (60min content + 30min Q&A)

  • Format: Live Online

  • Course Type: Focus

  • For: Researchers, Fundraisers, Directors - UK, US, International

Overview

For senior executives at listed and larger private companies, base salary may be only a fraction of what they actually take home. The real wealth comes from annual bonuses, deferred share awards and long-term incentive plans that can pay out sums many times the salary.

This session takes you through the full director pay package: how each element works, where to find it, and how to turn it into a realistic view of earnings, wealth and the best moments to ask.

What The Session Will Cover

  • Base Salary, Benefits & Pension

What base salary tells you and what it doesn’t. We look at typical salary levels by company size and sector, how benefits and pension contributions add to the package, and why salary is usually the most stable, but smallest, part of senior pay.

  • The Annual Bonus

How bonuses are set, measured and paid. We cover maximum bonus opportunities as a percentage of salary, the performance measures behind them, how much is paid in cash versus deferred into shares, and when bonuses are typically paid after the financial year end.

  • Long-Term Incentive Plans (LTIPs)

Where the big money often sits. We explain performance share plans, share options and restricted stock: how awards are granted, the performance conditions attached, vesting periods, holding periods, and why the value at vesting can be far higher, or lower, than the value at grant.

  • Reading the Remuneration Report

A practical walk-through of where the numbers live. We cover the UK Directors’ Remuneration Report and its single total figure, the US proxy statement (DEF 14A) and Summary Compensation Table, and how to read remuneration policy, outstanding awards and shareholdings together.

  • From Pay to Wealth

How years of pay build into personal wealth. We look at estimating accumulated shareholdings, tracking share dealings and director disclosures, spotting when vested shares are sold, and what happens to awards when a director leaves or a company is taken over.

  • Ask Strategy

How to time an approach around the pay cycle: bonus payment dates, LTIP vesting, results announcements and AGMs, share sales, promotions and moves to a new employer. Plus how to separate regular, liquid income from occasional, larger wealth creation moments when judging gift capacity.
