On The Pulse

Welcome to the second session in our exciting new series On The Pulse by PyroTalks CIC. These sessions are intended to provide ‘hot off the press’ information, realtime intelligence, and timely interpretation on markets as they move. The insights will help not for profit teams know which prospects should be prioritised for further research or an ask, right now!‍ ‍

Overview

Second in the ‘On The Pulse’ series of time sensitive topical talks we are looking at how Partner remuneration will be impacted by upcoming challenges. Tax changes, a bumper round of looming Private Equity sales and increases in private medical care companies are all examples of why the world of LLPs is so exciting and topical at the moment. This session will explore these changes with a focus on understanding the implications for wealth and ask planning.

Many of the world's biggest Hedge Funds, Private Equity funds, Legal firms, alongside the big 4 Accounting firms are structured as limited liability partnerships. We regularly see news about the level of partners' pay, which can be in the millions, yet struggle to interpret who received these profit shares, the structure of them and the timing.

It is also important to appreciate that not every partner receives these headline grabbing figures or to be able to identify the signs that someone is on the way to being made a partner. A further area of oversight is healthcare partners i.e. those who own their own private practice / surgery. This is a growing area of wealth and one that traditionally has not been explored.

Whether you’re an experienced researcher or new to the world of Partnership remuneration, this session is designed to give you the tools to understand how partners are paid and what key wealth indicators and trends are in the sector. The session will provide insight into the legal structure of partnership, identifying partners, the structure of their pay, remuneration timeframes and what happens if they leave. Make significant asks with confidence and be prepared for what may be discussed when liaising with your Partnership prospects.
