The not-profit-sector boasts thousands of individuals dedicated to making the world a better place. We want to improve ourselves in order to better serve the causes we love. However it’s not always easy to get the sage advice we need to truly develop ourselves. And by sage advice we mean that real high quality stuff, the kind that can excel a career in one sentence or the seasoned nuanced tip that takes someone’s practice to a whole other level.

True expert advice therefore is hard to come by precisely because true experts are rare, and because they’re rare they are often so very busy! These busy rare experts are exactly the one’s we’ve been reaching out to and continue to look for…

Mission

On its continued mission to make specialist knowledge more accessible, not-for-profit PyroTalks CIC, is starting a new career and personal development resource called NanoGuru. NanoGuru aims to capture bursts of wisdom held in experts and push them back out into the fundraising sector to benefit aspiring individuals and thus the causes they serve.

Imagine a resource where you can log onto and search terms associated to your role, whether that’s leadership, major gift fundraising, annual fund, prospect research or analytics, and a perfect nugget of golden advice from a sector great comes to your aid?

Vision

Put simply, we want to create a platform like MasterClass Online Classes but for the not-for-profit sector (though no way near as expensive!) or you could say like a YouTube of fundraising wisdom.

Over time this will grow into one of the highest quality resources on career and personal development resources you can find in the sector.

NanoGuru is currently working its way around experts to capture a 6-12 minute video of their time talking on just three points:

3. Tips on how to excel in your particular field

Still to be finalised, but we will host them on PyroTalks CIC website via a nominal pay-what-you-feel access and/or as part signing up to the NanoConferences.
